The rapid urbanization we have been witnessing in recent years puts an enormous strain on the infrastructure in larger cities. This leads not only to acute traffic-related problems, but to severe air pollution with all sorts of health risks to follow. This has even led the WHO Director-General Adhanom Ghebreyesus to call the increased air pollution “the new tobacco”. To combat the global problems previously mentioned, the UN adopted the 17 Sustainable Development Goals in 2015. The awareness of these goals has only increased as the planetary issues has become more apparent. The Goals are universally acknowledged as a standard and as a framework for working with sustainability. At Viridus we wish to announce our commitment to these goals, as well as to the 10 principles of the UN Global Compact.
